Lotus Tea - National treasure of Vietnam
Lotus Tea is a high-class product of Vietnam, used to honor the King. More than 1,000 Tay Ho lotus flowers, the place for the most fragrant lotus in Vietnam, have just made 1kg premium lotus tea.
National treasure of Vietnam
Hoang Anh Suong, the heir of the Truong Xuan tea house, made the lotus tea according to tranditional manual methods. He is also accepted as a discliple by Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh.
Artisan Hoang Anh Suong was invited to make lotus tea by Vietnamese General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong during the meeting with Japanese Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko as welll as Chinese President Xi Jinping. Since then, lotus tea has been considered as a national treasure of Vietnam.
The image of the lotus flower on the tea box is a combination of many noble forms of lotus, peony and chrysanthemum flowers taken from the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long.
